19th Circle conference of NUGDS was held at Basirhat High school on 24/25/12/2017.S/Shri Rajat S.Das Chief Adviser of NAPE-Gr-C&NUGDS inaugurated the conference. Asit Majumder and Idrish Ali also chaired the meeting. SGFNPO Sri D Theagarajan, NUGDS General Secretary P.U.Muralidharan   FNPO Working President Sri Manik Chandra Dey, FNPO affiliated unions circle secretaries Sri Koushik Chakraborty, Sri Debnath Paul, Soma Ghosh, Tapan Dutta addressed the conference. Shri Bhupen Roy Basunia, Sri Ashok Kr. Mitra & Sri Jayanta Biswas elected as Circle President, Circle Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Lunch hour Demonstration on 24/10/2017

FNPO has decided to go on Demonstration before the Divisional office on 24/10/2017 against the vindictive attitude of Modi Govt towards the Postal Deptt. to finish the Small Savings business &  issued Gazette notification  on 10.10.2017 in which all Nationalized Bank and Private Bank are empowered to do Small Savings works resulted more than 40% work load and staff strength will be badly reduced. Hence all the Divisional Union of FNPO affiliates jointly hold the demonstration to protest to withdraw the motivated and whimsical notification dated 10.10.2017. They are requested to to submit letter to the Secretary Post through the Divisional Superintendent.

 Sub: Protest demonstrations in front of all Divisional offices.

 Ministry of finance issued notification on 10/10/2017 vide F. NO 7/10/10/2014- Ns permitting all Nationalized Banks and three Private Banks viz ICICI Bank, AXIS Bank and HDFC Bank to accept deposits for all Small Savings Schemes. This will badly affect our revenue as well as workload in all the post offices.

Further, our Department replied to my federation on 1st August vide letter No.08/12/2017-SR that the recommendations of the Kamlesh Chandra committee have been considered by the Department of Posts and mandatory approval is being obtained in this regard now nearly 75 days have lapsed, there is no improvement on this important issue. We are getting the same reply from the concerned officers. My Federation is unable to reply to our GDS cadres.

One side Government is taking steps; one by one to reduce the importance of the Post offices, on the other side Department is not showing any interest to get mandatory approval from the Government with regard to GDS wage revision.

My federation doesn’t want to be a silent spectator on the above issues, therefore we have decided to organize lunch hour demonstration on 24/10/2017 in front of all Divisional office across the country to record our protest. Further course of action of my federation will be intimated after convening of our federal secretariat.
