State Level Trade Union Convention in Kolkata.

As decided a Joint Trade Union Convention will be held at Bharat Sava Hall, Kolkata – 12 on 02/07/2011 at 2 P.M. organized by All F.N.P.O affiliated Circle Union in favour of Strike. All members of Kolkata and nearby Divisions are requested to attend and make the Convention in favour of Strike a grand success.

INDEFINITE STRIKE W.E.F. 5/07/2011

On 27th June meeting had between Secretary Department of Posts and JCA leaders. Discussion failed in respect of item No-1 i.e. Mckiency Consultancy. Further on 29th June meeting held with Member (Operation) Smt Manjula Parasar. Again meeting held today on 30th June with Postal Services Board and some orders of the department as decided earlier as per our demand were issued. According to the information of NUPE Gr- C Sri D.Kisan Rao tomorrow on 1st July another meeting will be held with Postal Services Board. The development of the meeting will be informed through our West Bengal Union website. The central leaders are trying their level best to set right our Charter of Demand through discussion and mutual understanding. Meanwhile all members of FNPO affiliated Union are requested to go all out publicity to make the Strike cent percent success and display our FNPO WB printed Poster. They are also requested to print leaflet bulletin & poster locally and distributed amongst the members of the division in order to make them aware the present situation and why the Union compelled to take such decision like Indefinite Strike.

Discussion between JCA leaders and Postal Board failed today on 27/06/2011.Department adamant on Implementing Mckinsey Recommendation. JCA decided to go on Strike. INDEFINITE POSTAL STRIKE W.E.F. 5TH JULY 2011

Expanded CWC meeting of NAPE Group- C jointly with NUGDS WB Circle held on 18.06.11 at Student Hall (college Square) Kolkata. More than 250 members attended the meeting. Our General Secretary Sri D. Kisan Rao was also present in the meeting. Almost all the members present in the house took part in the discussion regarding the agenda of indefinite postal strike from 5th July 2011 and made their opinion that they are not willing to participate the said Strike with NFPE in the present Political Scenario when the leftist are washed out from India. The left unions are trying to disturb the Govt. by any means and that is why they called the strike immediately after declaring the election result. At the last Sri D. Kisan Rao General Secretary elaborately discussed the situation and the compulsion of the union to go to indefinite Strike. He also discussed the charter of demand and also he made it clear that if we do not go on Strike then the Department will not settle any legitimate claim and will do as per their suit will and Union will have no power to resist the order which is against the staff welfare. Sri Rao also mentioned that if the West Bengal Circle alone is not participating in the Strike then they will be isolated from the other part of India and also west Bengal will be liable for criticism of other Circle. He also mentioned that all other Circles have already gone ahead and they observed all three phrases’ programme as given by the JCA. He requested the house to keep the tempo of the Strike and leave it to the General Secretary for final decision. The next meeting between the Department and JCA leader will be held on 27.06.11. Meanwhile the IPO & ASPo`s Association express their moral support in writing. At the last Sri Rajat Subhra Das Circle Secretary NAPE Gr – C and Sri D. 22nd CIRCLE CONFERENCE HELD AT BURNPUR, ASSANSOLDIVISION

22nd Circle Conference of National Association of Postal Employees West Bengal Circle was held at Bharti Bhawan, Burnpur Asansol on and from 27/05/2011 to 29/05/2011. Delegate session was started at 3 PM on 27/05/11in a Well Decorated A/C Hall. 244 delegates and Visitors from 30 Divisions attended in the Conference. Conference was grand success in a peaceful atmosphere. More than 57 delegates participated in the discussion in various items of agenda in the delegate session. Almost all the delegates mentioned that the present Circle Working Committee functioned successfully. Regarding Indefinite Postal Strike almost all the delegates of the house expressed their unwillingness for going indefinite Strike with NFPE in the present political situation. They made their opinion that if FNPO alone serves any notice to the Govt. then they will participate in the Strike. Sri A.K.Mondal, ADPS (SB Region) was present as a official observer. Besides the Circle Working Committee, two other Committee were formed 1) Women Committee 2) National Post Sub Committee. On 29/05/11 at 10.00 hrs open session was started. Before it started a felicitation programme was held in order to honour Sri Dunia Rai on the eve of his retirement. He was honoured by the Circle Working committee and many other Divisions. Sri Dunia Rai retired on superannuation 0n 31.05.2011.
